Over the holiday period, British Hills had the pleasure of hosting its annual English winter camp. Every year British Hills, with the help of volunteer students from the Kanda Institute of Foreign Languages, host camps for students of all different ages and from all over Japan. Most of the students do not know each other before the camp, but they always leave with many new friends. This is because the classes they undertake not only enable their English, but also teach them to work together as a team to achieve a set goal. One such lesson is Drama, where students work together to put on a performance of ‘Momotaro’. The class takes the students through the process of becoming a character, expressing their emotions, and presenting themselves on stage. Drama is a great lesson for students looking to naturalise their English in an ultimately challenging, but fun manner.
