I am from Johannesburg, South Africa. Johannesburg is the biggest city in South Africa and is famous for its gold mines. South Africa has eleven official languages! So English is really important as a common language for most people in South Africa.
I also studied another South African language, Afrikaans, when I was a school student. Afrikaans has roots in Dutch and German. Unfortunately, it’s hard to practice speaking Afrikaans outside of South Africa, so I have forgotten a lot of it. Although South Africa is quite far away from Japan, I recommend that you try to visit there one day. It really is a special place. I have lived in Japan for over ten years now in Ibaraki, Saitama and Fukushima. I really love music and can play the drums (but not very well). I also really enjoy snowboarding in winter and Fukushima is a great place to snowboard. If you see me at British Hills, please say Hello. |
