Lord of the Manor
  • learn the rules, customs, and etiquette for playing British Hills’ own Monopoly-like game: Lord of the Manor

The game of Monopoly is played all over the English-speaking world and comes in many differentforms. Come and challenge your teacher to the British Hills’ own game and find out if you canbecome the Lord of the Manor.
Pub Games
  • learn how to play various traditional British Pub games, including: Liar's dice, Toad in the hole, Shut the box, Dominoes and many others!
Public houses (pubs) have been the centre of British village life for centuries, and inside them you will find a variety of traditional games well-known and played by everybody. In our Pub Games lesson, visit British Hills’ Falstaff Pub and learn the rules of a number of these games, challenging our staff to each one. An incredibly authentic British experience!

Tea & Culture
  • learn the surprising history of tea in the UK
  • learn the manners and customs of traditional British tea-drinking
The history of tea in the UK is a deep and complex one, and there are many customs and traditions associated with the British pastime of tea-drinking. In this lesson you will try three different kinds of traditional English tea and learn how to describe their aroma and flavour, before spending the rest of your time discussing the history and culture of tea in the UK while you drink.

In this lesson, enjoy free conversation over tea with a British Hills teacher in the relaxed atmosphere of the Ascot Tea Room.
Aromatherapy
In this lesson, learn about the health benefits of popular essential oils, try the different scents, and make your own bath salts using the essential oils of your choice. You will first learn the history and properties of different essential oils, identifying them by scent and learning about their various medicinal uses. You will then make your own collection of therapeutic bath salts to take home.
Calligraphy
In this lesson you will learn the basics of calligraphy before making your own original greeting card. Learn how to hold the pen, the correct order of strokes, and about the different styles of lettering.
Fabric Painting
In this lesson, design and paint your own original bag while chatting with your teacher and classmates.
Gel Candle-making
In this lesson create your gel candle by filling a glass with coloured sand, shells, and melted gel wax.
Glass Painting
In this lesson, you will design and create your own glass using special glass paints, while chatting with your teacher and classmates.
Jewellery Making
In this lesson you will learn about the healing properties of various stones, before designing and making your own original necklace or bracelet.
Mosaic Art
Using specialised and colourful tile pieces, create your own original coaster while chatting with your teacher and classmates.
3D Pictures
In this fun lesson make a 3D card using Beatrix Potter’s popular character, Peter Rabbit.
Scones & Chat
Enjoy making traditional British scones, then enjoy them with a cup of tea and conversation with your British Hills teacher.
Shortbread & Chat
Enjoy making traditional British shortbread, then enjoy them with a cup of tea and conversation with your British Hills teacher.
Muffins & Chat
In this lesson, make muffins using British Hills’ original recipe. Then enjoy your muffins with a cup of tea and conversation with your teacher.
