These lessons are specially designed for young learners so we focus on listening and speaking skills and on enjoying English.
The majority of these lessons are 40 minutes long and may be taken in pairs to be taught by the same British Hills teacher.

40-minute lessons
Survival English
In this ultimate warm-up to a British Hills trip, students will review useful English for their stay before learning where different rooms and things can be found in British Hills through exciting games and activities.
Describing Things
Students will learn how to describe the colour, size and shape of things before practicing these phrases in a communicative board game.
Fun with Directions
As more and more foreigners pour into Japan in the lead up to the Olympics, it is time to prepare your students to show the very best hospitality by showing them how to give directions in English in a fun and meaningful way.

Increase your English confidence! Students are encouraged to use simple language to introduce themselves and find out more about their classmates.
Culture & Manners
What is culture? In this lesson students will learn some of the similarities and differences between different cultures. They will compare Western and Japanese gestures and look at some famous festivals and their origins.
Describing People
Could your students give an accurate English description of someone if they needed help to find them, or even just to talk about a friend? British Hills can help your students get comfortable describing people with this fun lesson.
English Language in Film
Students will watch a number of scenes from “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” and compete in teams to answer a quiz about each scene.

Ready to go abroad? Students will learn a variety of travel phrases while learning about key travel destinations around the world.

“What’s the weather like?” Through a series of fun activities students will practice weather vocabulary and phrases.

Everybody loves food! Students will review food vocabulary and phrases before learning about different countries and their food.

Music is different from place to place but it always makes people happy. Students will learn about various instruments and listen to music from all over the world.
