Team Building
Science Challenge
Students work in teams to solve a problem using limited materials on a fixed budget in a race against the clock! An astronaut, 'Greg the Egg' is trapped in space, and students have to get him back to Earth by designing and then building a parachute for their egg with the materials provided (each group gets an actual egg). These materials come at a cost however, and students have to decide how best to use the money they are given and finish their parachute before the time runs out. Their parachute then has to help their egg survive a three-storey fall onto a concrete floor. Will our hero live, or will our hopes be scrambled?

Interview Orienteering
Taking advantage of British Hills' picturesque nature trail, students can get out of the classroom and go for a walk while using English to ask questions along the way. In pairs or small groups, students complete a circuit of the nature trail using maps to find markers placed around the track. At each marker, they ask questions to their friends or to the teachers to complete a worksheet as they go. Interview Orienteering is always done with two teachers and is a great chance for students to stretch their legs while having a conversation in English. The lesson is not available during the winter months.

British Sports
In this lesson, students can learn the rules of the British sports cricket and hockey, before playing a game of each in teams. We play a simplified version of cricket in the gym, with each student having a chance to bat, bowl, and field. Students can also practice the basic skills of hockey, before playing a game, or a mini class tournament, that is sure to leave them worn-out.

Team Challenge: Beginner to Pre-Intermediate
Students work together in groups to complete different fun challenges appropriate to their age and ability. One example is, 'The Floor is Lava," where teams must get all their members across the gym without touching the ground, and have only a limited number of 'boulders' (carpet squares) to help them survive. This lesson can help students develop teamwork and leadership skills, communicating in English, while having a fun time.

Team Challenge: Intermediate to Advanced
In this lesson, students will work together in groups to navigate various tasks using English communication, problem solving and time management skills. They will use their existing and new English vocabulary to complete challenges designed to encourage stronger relationships and friendships.

Team Building for Adults
This lesson is a good ice breaker for a group of adults who have just met each other. Participants will find out new things about their team members and discuss good communication strategies. A fun and easy way to get to know your teammates and practice communication skills.

Performing Arts
Students use non-verbal communication to tell a story in groups as a performance for their classmates. Through a series of practice activities lead by the teacher, students learn and improve ways of conveying meaning through gestures and intonation. Groups then draw a story in pictures and another group must interpret and create a performance based on these pictures.
