Lesson 1
 
  • Check-in (Receive your room key and information booklet)
  • Welcome Lecture (An introduction to the course and what to expect)
  • Manor House Tour (A detailed tour of the Manor house. Learn the history and facts about a British Manor house while finding your way around British Hills)
Lesson 2
 
  • Teaching styles (Learn about various teaching styles and the pros and cons)
  • What is Communicative Language Teaching (CLT)? (Learn about CLT and how it is beneficial for your classes)
  • Introduction to the stages of CLT lesson plans (An introduction to the 4 parts of a CLT lesson plan)
Lesson 3
 
  • Introduction to SMART activities (What SMART activities are and how they can help you create fun, educational lessons)
  • The warm-up stage (How to create a variety of warm ups for your class and gain some tried and tested activities)
  • The presentation stage (Learn ways to introduce your target language with these creative and interesting methods)
Lesson 4
 
  • The practice stage (Sticking with CLT to have students practice the target language in new effective ways)
  • The production stage ( Learn how to use what the students learnt during the class to produce something on their own)
Lesson 5
 
  • Lesson participation (Experience for yourself a full CLT lesson)
  • Breakdown & discussion (A summary of the CLT activities used and thoughts and feelings of the lesson shared)
Lesson 6 (Elementary Course)
 
  • Useful Classroom English (Words, phrases and expressions to teach your class all in English)
  • Communicating with ALTs (Beneficial English to help you communicate your ideas and hopes for the lessons to the ALT)
Lesson 6 (Junior High & High School Course)
 
  • Classroom Dynamics (What they are and why they are important)
  • Styles, ideas and activities (Learn how to better engage & motivate students, create a positive atmosphere and how to use class space better)
 Lesson 7
 
  • Creating a lesson plan (Putting all the knowledge from the previous lessons to create a CLT lesson plan)
  • Preparation & practice (Preparing materials and practicing your lesson)
Lesson 8
 
  • Lesson Presentations (Each student/group will teach their class)
  • Feedback (You will receive feedback about your lesson)
  • Q & A and closing (A final question and answer session and a closing to the course)
