An excellent way to get your brain into English mode. There are plenty of different activities that will have you reading, listening and speaking English quickly. In the process, you will learn useful expressions to use during your stay at British Hills.
Culture & Manners
What is culture? Exploring this idea, students will learn about different cultures around the world, including the music, language and sports of countries such as the U.K. and South Africa. They will also see how people from other countries greet each other, and even try a few for themselves if they wish.
Describing Things
A big blue cat or a blue big cat? Silver watch or silvery watch? Through a series of engaging activities, students will learn to describe things using more than one adjective in the correct natural order.
Drama (1 or 2 lessons)Take students’ spoken English to the next level! Students will learn to think about meaning and to add feeling and emphasis to their words while practising a play based on a famous Japanese story.
Fun with Language
English is fun! This lesson is all about the enjoyment of English. Students will put their listening, writing, and spelling skills to the test while playing a series of entertaining language games.
Fun with Directions
As Japan welcomes more and more tourists, it is time to prepare your students to show the very best hospitality by showing them how to give directions in English in a fun and meaningful way.

Say “She sells sea shells by the seashore” three times. Is it difficult? In this lesson students will practice some of the most challenging English sounds, so whether practicing for a competition or improving conversational English, this is a fun and useful lesson.
World of Sports
Sports have the power to inspire and unite! Students will learn about sports from around the world through a variety of listening and speaking activities. Students will use comparatives (-er than) and superlatives (the most -) to compare the greatest athletes of all time.
Volunteer English: Pre-Intermediate
The Tokyo Olympics are just around the corner, and this lesson will prepare students for the event! They will learn about the different roles volunteers can play, and practise guiding and helping visitors in Japan. Finally, students will combine common phrases used by those roles to present a role play.
Introducing Japan: Pre-Intermediate
What Japanese items do foreigners know? You will be surprised what famous Japanese items are not famous outside Japan! Students will create a script for their own “YouTube” video to explain Japanese culture such as shrines or how to use a hot spring.
British Hills Experience
Students will learn how to negotiate difficult situations that might arise during your stay abroad. Students will engage in fun English conversations with various staff to learn more about British Hills to complete their “out of Japan” experience.
