Active Learning and Task-Based Lesson Series
British Hills’ active learning and task-based lessons place the focus back on the student. Each lesson challenges language learners to complete a meaningful task while developing their communicative competence. Our lessons are complementary to the traditional grammar-based lessons common in the Japanese classroom, which often focus on accuracy over other skills, by providing a setting and a purpose for English language use that helps develop fluency. Students must use their English in new and practical ways in order to work together, solve problems, and share ideas and information.

Watch your students shine in these engaging and challenging lesson series!

Business Experience

Presenting ideas in high-pressure situations is a skill that any student can benefit from practicing. In the British Hills Business Experience, students will test their skills in business situations such as making and pitching proposals and answering on-the-spot questions, all in English! This series is recommended to groups with a solid foundation in English and who want to see just how much they can achieve using that language.

Let’s Start a Business
“Pitch your product"

N.B: This lesson is carried out over a minimum of 2 classes. 3 or 4 classes will give students more time to design and prepare.
Why choose this class?
In Let’s Start a Business learners will work in small groups to make a business plan for a brand-new product of their own creation. Looking at the key features of a successful business, such as promotion, demand, and cost and profit, students will prepare and present a business proposal to four “Lions” – successful businesspeople looking to invest money in a new product.

What you will learn
In the first lesson, students will design their products and prepare their business proposals in groups. In the final lesson, the groups will pitch their proposals. Learners will not only play the role of those looking for investment, but also the role of the Lions, analysing business proposals and asking questions for more detail before making their final decisions.
