Hi! I’m Rhys and I’m from Scotland in the UK. That’s the land of bagpipes and men’s skirts. Maybe you’ve heard of it. Our national dish is haggis, and it’s delicious. I started working here in April. Before that, I worked as an ALT in Ibaraki.
I have a few hobbies, including reading, playing games and working out. Fitness is important, after all. Since I came to Japan I have been learning to play igo. It’s my most recent hobby. Challenge me if you are interested! When I was in high school I played the alto saxophone in the wind band, but I’ve not practiced in many years. I probably can’t play well anymore. One of my favourite things about Japan is the food. It’s great! I enjoy going to summer festivals and trying all the food. It took a while to get used to the taste of natto though. I’ve only been to a few places in Japan for sightseeing, such as Kyoto, Mt. Fuji and Nasu. I hope to see more. Scotland has a lot of nice scenery, so if you also like sightseeing then I recommend you go there. It’s also a wonderful place to go hiking. If you see me at British Hills, don’t forget to say ‘Hi!’ |
